About Us

Reel Alternatives shows movies once a month (third Monday) from September to April at the Nechako Valley Secondary School Small Auditorium in Vanderhoof. Plus we host a multi-day Film Festival in February.

The Reel Alternatives Society is comprised of movie loving individuals from the Vanderhoof area. We meet in the summer and fall to make our wish list of movies for the coming year. The movies we pick are typically non-mainstream, award-winning and often international movies. We try and get a mix of comedies and dramas with the occassional documentary.

Proceeds from our season are donated to local charities. Many of the movies we show during the season are donated to the Vanderhoof Public Library.

Check with the library for their full selection of free movies.
